Belay Technologies is seeking a Financial Analyst to join our back office team. The Financial Analyst is a critical part of Belay’s back-office staff and is the go-to person for all budget related questions. You will have the opportunity to touch all aspects of the finance process including financial statements, incurred costs, audits and long-term financial forecasting. The Financial Analyst is responsible for the ongoing functions of our corporate accounting operations. This includes, but is not limited to: management of all financial activity; contracts/subcontracts, creating and implementing policies and procedures; financial compliance & reporting. The Financial Analyst will also work with internal and external organizations to support other aspects of our business growth. This is a great opportunity to gain full exposure to the finance/contracts process and obtain the skills and knowledge necessary to grow within the government contracting industry.
You should have experience, be familiar with, or desire to learn the following functions:
Manage all financial activities for prime and subcontract programs, to include customer invoicing, labor hours’ management, travel processing, and materials reporting
Develop corrective financial action plans
Support proposal pricing efforts for both prime and subcontract efforts
Complete project accounting responsibilities within JAMIS
Develop and maintain program budgets and forecasts
Update financial records via JAMIS accounting system
Prepare financial statements in accordance with GAAP
Maintain accounts receivable, document invoices and supporting documentation
Maintain accounts payable, ensure timely payment of invoices, confirm validity of the charges
Follow up on payment status of outstanding invoices
Qualifications: What will you need?
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related discipline preferred
Work experience that demonstrates quantitative skills and ability to perform a variety of financial and strategic analysis
Federal government contracting experience preferred
Understanding of GAAP accounting and financial statements
Experience with multiple contract types (T&M, FFP, CPFF, CPAF)
Hands-on experience with accounting software
Intermediate MS Excel skills such as pivot tables, filers and VLookups
Outstanding organizational ability with great attention to detail
Must be able to handle multiple tasks/projects
Effective communication and presentation skills
Operative collaboration and creative problem solving skills
